I'm not posting it to [community profile] knitting until I'm done, but I thought I'd share what I'm working on now...

Walker Yarn-Bombing Stage 1

Image: Gray walker with a green, purple and red yarn covering on one support strut (aka "yarn bombing"). Three standard buttons hold it in place and one decorative button reads "Zounds". Note: the buttons allow the decoration to be removed and cleaned for sanitary purposes.

I'm yarn bombing my walker.

That's fab! I love the colours and the BIG buttons, as well as appreciating the practicality. And if one has to spend too much time looking towards one's feet then it's good to have something pleasing to look at, heh.

I used to have an AWESOME collection of random buttons but these days I mostly collect them from pavements.... ;-)

"You're 27 and you look fine, why are you using a walker?"

It will never cease to amaze me how many people's brains seem to classify people with visible disability aids as having "invisible disabilities" because "you don't look disabled", lolololol. :-/

Neat! Since the yarn bombing is removable, you can even make seasonal/holiday variations if you want.

I have at least one slogan button I would love to contribute to Operation Trick Out The Walker, if you have a postal mailing address you feel comfortable sharing with a random internet person.
